1. What is the DJ Associates Disc Jockey Association?
DJ Associates or 'DJ@' is a DJ only non-gimmicky online based disc jockey association established in 2005 and is independent. The Association operates as a non-profit organisation.
DJ Associates has represented members directly on industry related issues and will continue to act on the members behalf - to protect and promote the art of DJ'ing.
For example, there are many DJs across the UK not satisfied with the MCPS-PRS & PPL 'ProDub Licence' and the way it was introduced.
With concerns that further licences may be imposed, DJs are welcome to join the re-organised DJ Associates Association and participate as an active volunteer in helping promote the DJ Association to the wide range of bodies and organisations in the Arts and Government.
The DJ Associates DJ Association welcomes member interaction to help ensure that the DJ sector is widely recognised.
DJ Associates encourages its members to network, discuss DJ related topics and share DJ tips and advice for new and established services.
See DJ@ ethics here.
The DJ Association can be a powerful and effective advocate for the profession and lobby the people who actually matter - on behalf of its members.

If you are a DJ - you have a few more great choices! You'll simply have to work out which package is the best option for you! If you are considering obtaining DJ Public Liability Insurance, please have a look here first.
Public Liability Insurance cover is, in our opinion, quite essential if you're providing a hire service - it makes sense to be covered in the event of a claim!
DJ@ believes that it provides the cheapest DJ Public Liability Insurance policy bundled with association membership in the UK.
If you are a DJ hire service, ask your self, can you afford not to have it?
Public Liability Insurance is not a legal requirement - but it makes good sense to be covered in the event of a claim!
In fact, one of our new members said that to have it - "it's a no-brainer!"
Whichever organisation you choose to join, holding a valid and current Public Liability Insurance policy is good practice and remember that venues set the level of Public Liability Insurance for a reason. They can make a claim on your PLI policy too!
Rest assured, the Public Liability Insurance cover DJ@ has secured for its members is 100% for DJs:
Our policy key facts are available here.
Compared to other similar packages available, we know DJ@ is not the cheapest but we believe we offer great benefits as a DJ Association.
*Unfortunately, we cannot cover RoI residents.
22. What is the Distance Selling Regulations?
The DSRs apply to a business if goods or services are sold without face-to-face contact with the consumer using an organised distance sale or service provision scheme, for instance, via the internet.
The DSRs say that consumers must be provided with clear information so that they can make an informed choice about whether or not they wish to buy from a goods or service provider. In most cases the goods or service provider must also give consumers the right to a cancellation period.
Compliance with the DSRs is a legal requirement.
